A MESSAGE FROM Julie's Fundraising Page
I’m honored to be running the 2026 United Airlines NYC Half on behalf of the EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases. For me, this race is deeply personal. I run for my grandson, Beckham, who is four years old and lives with a rare condition called pseudoparahypothyroidism. Watching him navigate a world that wasn’t built with rare diseases in mind has changed how I see advocacy, research, and the urgency of this work.
I also run as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner who has spent years caring for babies and families facing rare diagnoses. I’ve seen firsthand how limited awareness, delayed diagnoses, and underfunded research affect real lives. Too often, rare diseases don’t receive the attention or resources they deserve simply because they are rare.
By supporting my fundraising efforts, you are helping the EveryLife Foundation advance evidence-based policy, drive research forward, and amplify the voices of families like mine. Your generosity helps ensure that people living with rare diseases are seen, supported, and given access to better care and a better future.
I’m incredibly grateful to have you alongside me on this run — every mile is for Beckham, and for the millions of families walking this road every day. THANK YOU!
