A MESSAGE FROM Help Make Tyler’s Dream A Reality
My name is Tyler, and at 27 years old, I’ve already experienced a transformation that changed my life forever.
When I was 18, I made the decision to take control of my health. Through discipline, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to change, I was able to lose more than 250 pounds naturally. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but along that journey I discovered something that gave me strength in ways I never expected… running.
What started as a way to stay active quickly became a passion. Running became my outlet, my therapy, and a daily reminder of how far I had come. Today, I run between 8–12 miles every other day, something that once felt completely impossible for my body to achieve.
For years, I’ve dreamed of running the New York City Marathon. But this race is about much more than crossing a finish line for me.
I want every mile to mean something.
That’s why I’m raising funds for the Propionic Acidemia Foundation to support families affected by Propionic Acidemia—a rare and life-threatening metabolic disorder.
This cause is deeply personal to me because of my connection to Jennifer Simmons and her incredible son, Jordan Simmons. I’ve witnessed Jordan’s strength as he continues to fight this disease, and I’ve seen the unwavering love, resilience, and determination his parents show every single day.
Their strength is inspiring. It’s also a powerful reminder that many families are fighting battles most of the world has never even heard of.
Running 26.2 miles will be challenging… but it’s nothing compared to the fight families like Jordan’s face every day.
Every step I take during this marathon will be for him, for his family, and for every child and family living with Propionic Acidemia. My goal is to help raise awareness, support research, and bring hope to families who need it.
If you are able to donate, know that your support truly makes a difference. Every contribution helps move research forward and supports families navigating this rare disease. Thank you. ☺️
