A MESSAGE FROM Maggie
I am so excited to be running the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon this November for Team Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation for the second time! I am running in honor of my two grandmothers, Rosemary Furman and Jackie Sandler, both of whom I tragically lost to Alzheimer's Disease. 

 My entire life, I have been inspired to fight to eradicate Alzheimer's, and I have been able to pursue this goal through my involvement with the ADDF. Alzheimer's is a horrific neurodegenerative disease that robs people of their memory, their essence. I have seen the pain and suffering this disease causes. I feel strongly that no one should have to suffer such indignity, and no one should have to watch this happen to loved ones. 

 My grandmothers were amazing women, but Alzheimer's prevented me from really getting to know them. But I am constantly motivated by the formidable legacies they left behind, especially as I take on this daunting task of running 26.2 miles! I hope that my dedication to this feat will encourage others to join the fight for a cure as well. I want to make them proud, and my hope is, together, we can fight for an end to Alzheimer's. 

 The ADDF is proud to be an official charity partner for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon. Donations to our team directly support research into new treatments for this devastating disease. 100% of funds raised goes directly to Alzheimer's research.
