A MESSAGE FROM Francis' 2024 NYC Marathon Fundraiser
2024 New York City Marathon: Running for Parks and Vibrant Communities!
Hello Everyone!
I have been granted the remarkable opportunity to participate once again in the 2024 New York City Marathon, with the City Parks Foundation. As I take on this challenge, I am committed to raising funds that will not only benefit our parks but also highlight the crucial connection they have with the surrounding public spaces.
New York City is known for its towering skyscrapers and bustling streets, but it's the parks and public spaces that breathe life into our urban areas. They provide essential breathing room, acting as the green lungs that invigorate our neighborhoods and offer respite from the fast-paced urban lifestyle – whether it be Sheep’s Meadow in Central Park, or Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village.
The City Parks Foundation recognizes the significant role these public spaces play in creating thriving communities. Not only do they contribute to the physical and mental well-being of residents, but they also have a direct impact on the surrounding neighborhoods. Founded in 1989, City Parks aims to provide access to quality parks, dynamic programming, and education to all residents, regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds.
By supporting my fundraising campaign, you will contribute directly to the City Parks Foundation's efforts in maintaining and improving our parks, which, in turn, contributes to enhancing the vitality and value of our neighborhoods. Your donation will fund initiatives that beautify and enhance public spaces, making them more appealing and accessible to everyone.
I found running as a way to relieve stress, maintain my mental health, and push myself beyond what I thought was possible. The 2023 NYC Marathon experience was one I will never forget, and I cannot wait to get back on the streets of the five boroughs once again.
Your support means the world to me, and I am deeply grateful for any contribution you can make. Together, let's run for the parks, run for thriving communities, and leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Francis Yalda
