I was raised by two amazing ladies- my grandma and single mother- so when I lost them both within a few months of each other, my world was forever changed. There was no early detection or signs of ovarian cancer in our story. My mom was sick and then she was gone all in less than a month. So when I was introduced to Team Tell Every Amazing Lady, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to join the mission and be a part of raising awareness, support, and funds.
Grief has changed the way I understand strength and support. Running has been a way for me to process loss, stay grounded, and keep moving forward when life felt heavy. It represents more than a physical challenge- it’s about resilience, community, wins, losses, ups, downs, and the reminder we don’t have to carry things alone.
So I run for my mom who had ovarian cancer and needed more resources and accessible information. I run for my sister who has to be a mom without her mom. I run for my grandma who had to watch her daughter suffer and not be able to do a thing about it. I run for my mom’s neighbor who lost her best friend. Ovarian cancer took my mom's life and changed everyone else’s she was a part of. I run for all the people who have to grieve a life ovarian cancer claimed. I run to remind myself and others we can do hard things and we don't have to do them alone.
I can’t think of a better way to honor her than to join Team Every Amazing Lady to bring awareness, resources, and support for someone’s daughter, mother, aunt, friend, neighbor, barista, teacher, coworker, classmate, grandmother, wife, loved one.
Thank you for being a part of this with me. Your support means more than I can put into words, and every donation truly helps me carry my mom with me every step of the way.
