A MESSAGE FROM Nina's Running a Marathon (3rd Time's the Sharm)
Once per decade was the goal.
- Ran in my 20s with my best friend.
- Ran in my 30s for the nonprofit where I worked.
- And now - I'm squarely in my mid-40s and not getting any younger.
So, it's actually happening. I'm running the NYC Marathon for the 3rd (and final) time this November. I’m fulfilling my once-a-decade goal and I’m running to support my current backyard and favorite place in the city -- Riverside Park.
It's right outside my front door, and it's the place that Kevin and I spend the most time. But most importantly, Riverside Park is where I met my community here on the Upper West Side. I walk here with my neighborhood friends every day. It’s just a little bit scrappy. There are an equal number of dogs and people. It's beautiful in every season and it's generally tourist-free. To me, Riverside Park is what it means to be home.
Help get me across that finish line and support my happy place at the same time. All donations will support the Riverside Park Conservancy, the nonprofit organization that supports, maintains, and improves the 6-mile park year-round.
Thank you (and also ouch, this is gonna hurt)!!
