As many of you know, the NYC Marathon is not just about covering 26.2 miles; it's about the journey, the dedication, and the commitment to a cause. I've chosen to run for Friends of Firefighters, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that provides crucial mental health counseling and wellness services to active and retired FDNY firefighters and their families. This amazing organization was started in response to those needing assistance after 9/11. Please support my fundraising efforts for the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon Fundraising. No donation too small! Friends of Firefighters keeps its doors open with funds from donors like yourselves. Our headquarters are in an old firehouse in historic Red Hook, Brooklyn, which has been restored and revitalized with the help of over 400 firefighters who came to build in between tours.
So, where do your donations go? Overhead costs (rent, heat in the dead of winter, air in the dead of summer, etc.), acupuncture, monthly On the Arm Breakfasts, counseling, peer support, ukulele groups, outreach, family events, and more. Since 2001, our mission has been to provide FREE counseling and wellness services to active and retired FDNY members and their families... and I am so proud that this has been, and continues to be, a tremendous success for the last 22 years.
