In 2020, I started running because my body felt like a place I couldn’t live in. It was my gender-affirming care when I struggled to access medical treatment in a southern state— where nobody looked like me and gender clinics had waitlists that stretched for more miles than I could ever run.
This November, I’ll be running the New York City Marathon with Team Point of Pride, an organization that provides life-saving gender-affirming care to transgender and gender-diverse people who might not otherwise have access to it. Every donation helps remove barriers to healthcare and supports trans people in living safely and authentically.
Running the NYC marathon with Point of Pride is a dream come true. Running it alongside my fiancée, who emptied my surgical drains and offered to do my testosterone shots for me, makes me feel unimaginably lucky.
I had the privilege of getting gender affirming care— but it should not be a privilege. It should be a right. It began my life.
Your donation will directly support other trans people, and let them begin theirs.
Thank you for supporting Team Point of Pride.
