This November, I’ll be running the New York City Marathon in support of Minding Your Mind, an organization dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health through education, conversation, and advocacy.
Mental health is something that matters deeply to me, both personally and professionally. As a trauma therapist, I see every day how powerful it can be when someone feels understood, supported, and reminded that they are not alone. I also know how isolating anxiety, trauma, depression, and emotional pain can feel when people think they have to carry it all by themselves.
This cause is especially personal to me because my family has been impacted by suicide loss. That experience deepened my belief in the importance of open conversations, early support, and creating spaces where people feel safe asking for help without shame.
Training for the New York City Marathon feels like a reflection of this mission in a lot of ways. Some miles will feel strong and exciting, and others will feel exhausting and difficult. Healing can feel the same way. It is not always linear, and it is so much harder when people feel like they have to do it alone.
I want this marathon to represent something bigger than crossing a finish line. I’m fundraising to help Minding Your Mind continue providing mental health education, advocacy, and resources that encourage honest conversations and help people feel seen, supported, and connected.
Whether you donate, share this page, or simply cheer me on along the way, thank you. Truly. Your support helps turn these miles into something meaningful.
