A MESSAGE FROM Every Mile for Logan
My Why: Running for Logan
I am running the New York City Marathon in honor of my son, Logan.
Logan was 14 years old. He was funny, smart, athletic, and deeply loved. He was a straight A student, involved in sports, had lots of friends...but like many teens, he carried struggles that weren’t always visible on the outside. And like too many families, we never imagined that we would lose him to suicide. As his mom, I carry deep grief and the questions that come with loss. This marathon is part of how I honor Logan and channel that grief into purpose — with the hope that no other parent has to walk this road alone.
Logan mattered. His life mattered. And his story deserves to help others.
That is why I am running these 26.2 miles — one mile at a time — to raise funds for Minding Your Mind.
Why Minding Your Mind Matters
Minding Your Mind is doing the work that can save lives.
They focus on mental health education, awareness, and early intervention, especially for young people. They help teens, families, and schools recognize the warning signs of mental health struggles, reduce stigma, and start conversations before a crisis becomes a tragedy.
Too often, young people feel like they have to hide their pain.
Too often, they believe they are a burden.
Too often, they think silence is safer than asking for help.
Minding Your Mind teaches that mental health is just as important as physical health — and that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. They give students the language to express what they’re feeling and the confidence to speak up when something doesn’t feel right. They help parents and educators know how to listen, respond, and support.
If even one young person hears the message that they are not alone — that their life has value — then this work matters.
Running With Purpose: Every mile I run is for Logan.
For his life.
For his memory.
For the conversations we must keep having.
For the kids who are hurting quietly.
For the families who don’t yet know how close they are to heartbreak.
This marathon is not about a finish line.
It’s about hope, awareness, and saving lives.
Thank you for supporting this journey, for honoring Logan, and for standing with families affected by suicide. Your donation helps ensure that fewer parents have to live this loss — and that more young people get the support they deserve.
Logan’s life mattered.
Your support helps make sure others are saved.
