It's almost here!! 56 days out... I have run a lot of miles with many beautiful friends and family this year. I am feeling so grateful for all of them and for all of you behind me as I take on NYC Marathon as part of Team Allied! Feeling so fortunate to get this opportunity AND to help raise money for a mission I care about. A hurdle: From mid-July through mid-August, I took 4 critical weeks off from running to focus exclusively on rehabbing some chronic SI dysfunction that I have been battling for a while (since having kids, thanks children). I am not 100%, but I am back out there logging miles and stretching, stretching, stretching... Speaking of stretching! The homestretch: full speed on hitting my fundraising goal! (PLEASE HELP IF YOU ARE READING THIS...) And, the next few weeks, my long runs will notch up. Thinking I will cap at 18 miles this go around. A wise friend named Amy once told me, "it's better to under train than over!" So if Amy says so, that's it. I know I will get to that finish line, one slow step at a time, and make you all proud. It's an honor of a lifetime to run this race for Team Allied... <3 full send!

A MESSAGE FROM Arrah Runs NYC for Allied Services!
Hi! I’m Arrah — mom of two, wife, nonprofit director in Honesdale, PA, and (somehow) a marathon runner. I ran my first marathon in 2025 as a nod to turning 40 and swore I’d never put my body through that many miles again. But, as it turns out, one thing can get me back out there… helping people. 

So, I’m at it again — it’s official: I’m a marathon runner now. And not just any marathon runner. I’m taking my black Hokas, my stubborn determination, and plenty of snacks to New York City in November for 26.2 glorious, gritty miles as part of Team Allied Services! 

This year, I’m thrilled to run for a cause that truly matters to me. Allied Services is a nonprofit that provides life-changing care and programs to individuals of all ages and abilities across Northeastern and Central PA. From kids building strength and confidence after injury to seniors working toward independence and comfort, Allied ensures everyone has access to the support they deserve. 

I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference this kind of care makes in our communities — and I’m proud to lace up for them. Whether you chip in the cost of your morning latte, your favorite taco, or a full tank of marathon fuel, every dollar helps someone take a step toward a fuller, more confident life. 

As I log the miles and test the limits of my legs (and my mental fortitude), I hope you’ll cheer me on — both on the course and through your support of Allied Services. Let’s do something good, one mile at a time.
