Last year I ran the NYC Half Marathon. This year, with a questionable judgment call, I signed up for the full.
Running it with Make-A-Wish, however, was a much easier decision. I founded our Make-A-Wish club in high school and have stayed close to the organization ever since. Somewhere between then and now, running 26.2 miles through the five boroughs started to feel like the least I could do.
On behalf of wish kids and their families, thank you for supporting Team Make-A-Wish and Make-A-Wish Metro New York. Your generosity helps make life-changing wishes possible, creating joy, renewing hope, and giving kids a piece of their childhood back when they need it most.
I’m incredibly grateful to have you along for the ride. Considerably more grateful than my knees.
