A MESSAGE FROM Elena's Fundraising Page - NYC Marathon 2025
The Release Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to ensuring all who are ready and willing to seek professional treatment, are able. Substance Use Disorder and mental illness destroy the lives of too many people from underserved communities who may not have the resources for proven treatments. The Release Foundation offers scholarships to bridge the gap between what people can afford and what they need to transform their lives, regardless of race, gender, and/or sexual orientation.
Mental Health illness is very personal to me as well and something I have struggled with my whole life. It is my honor to have the opportunity to support Release Foundation in their cause and all efforts in this community.
I was first introduced to their work through the Monday Nights summer runs in Central Park. I admire their genuine support and commitment to the cause for all people in need of treatment and using the love of running in their fundraising efforts. Running saved my life and today I have tremendous gratitude to give back.
In the past 12 months I went trough a knee ACL reconstruction surgery. The beating to my mental health was tremendous. I put all my efforts through fear and pain to physically recover and stay positive. Today, my knee has recovered, I am physically in shape to run this marathon and have fun.
Please support my effort and help me raise funds for Mental Health and Release.
