It's a bit surreal to be writing this. For anyone who knows my story, you'll know that the last 30 years have been… a ride. Between navigating chronic pain, staring down brain surgery, and waking up from a coma I wasn't supposed to, the idea of hitting 40 felt more like a fantasy than a future.
But here I am. And I've decided to do something completely wild to mark the occasion: I'm running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon.
Honestly, I'm not a natural-born runner. My legs are so short they barely reach the ground.
But this isn't just about crossing a finish line. It's about putting this second chance to good use. It's about using this body that has fought so hard to do something good for others. I'm running with Team for Kids to raise money for New York Road Runners youth programs, which help kids across the city get active and build healthy habits. It's about giving them a strong start and the kind of opportunity that running can provide.
This is where you come in. I've set a big, scary fundraising goal, and there's no way I can do it alone. I know times are tough right now, so I mean it when I say that any contribution, no matter how small, genuinely makes a difference. It all adds up, and it all goes directly to these kids.
Your support would mean the world to me. It turns this personal milestone into something shared.
Thank you for being part of this next chapter with me. Truly x
